Here is another Top Ten Tuesday! ( Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.)
Topic: ‘September 10: Books On My TBR I’m Avoiding Reading and Why (maybe you’re scared of it, worried it won’t live up to the hype, etc.) (submitted by Caitlin @ Caitlin Althea) ‘
Finally, I got the time to finish this post after rushing to finish my tea posts. It was so much tea, let me tell you! Regardless, here is my list.
10.

Traitor’s Blade by Sebastien De Castell
I’ve been waiting to finish his other series. I’ll probably end up reading this in October or Next year, TBH. Unless I do it in November. I have no idea what I’m reading in November. I placed it on this list, because I am avoiding it, despite having all the books out (pretty sure).
9.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
I watched the movie and I always feel awkward reading a book after seeing the movie. As if the movie will ruin the book. I feel that I need to give it some more time before reading this series.
8.

Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas
No other reason, other than this series is so massively hyped that I feel like I will hate it. It is what, sort of, happened with The Red Queen. I have apprehensions towards this series, but a lot of booktubers I follow love this series… It’s worth reading when I have more of the books. Until then, I will avoid all spoilers.
7.

The Swarm by Frank Schatzing
I tried reading this when I was younger. It’s not like it turned out badly, rather I simply never finished because it was far above my reading level at the time. Or I got bored. I don’t remember. I will read it again one day.
6.

The Once and Future King by T.H. White
I’ve been avoiding all my King Arthur books like the plague until next year. Why? No real reason, I just have been trying to finish all these other series and I keep saying “next year.”
5.

Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card
I’ve heard so many good things about the first book, not so many good things about the subsequent novels. If you know me by know, you know that I read a whole series and that means… I will aim to read this whole series, no matter how bad it gets. Until then, I’m avoiding it. I have to work up the courage to start
4.

Battlefield Earth by L. Ron Hubbard
It’s so long. Next.
3.

Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice
The Witching Hour was so hard to get into, and this series is so long. Combined together seems like a horrible state of reading dread. However Anne Rice’s world building is top notch, so it is something to look forward to.
2.

The Black Prism by Brent Weeks
I’m just scared I will hate it after loving his Night Angel series. Watch as I completely hate this. I doubt I will, but it is that fear that is keeping me from grabbing it next.
1.

A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin
Because once I finish this one, that means I have to wait for the next one. Who knows when that is coming. It is on my list of books to read this month, so I suppose I will finish it. Still, it scares me.
That’s everything for this month. In some ways this was difficult because I never really think of being scared by my TBR. I suppose I am, and this proves it. Anyway! Tomorrow, I should have my next post about Fae. Should. No promises.
Until next time,
MM
