Marlena Marie was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. She has a BSBA in Operations Management and a BA in Theater from The Ohio State University. She has a MLitt in Creative Writing from The University of Glasgow. She has been published in a variety of zines including: Space Lime Zine, Orange Peel Poetry zine, and Morii zine. She currently resides in the United States.

Marlena is the current Production Manager of Black Ink Ocean Literary Magazine and the Managing Editor of Exhibit City News.

Marlena loves most genres reading, but prefers books within the Fantasy and Sci-fi Genre. Her favorite books are Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There and JD Salinger’s Catcher in the Rye.  e.e. cumming’s “anyone lived in a pretty how town” remains her favorite poem.

Marlena Marie loves foxes, wolves, sparrows, and hummingbirds. Her favorite color is periwinkle. She has a massive hat collection (not as large as her book collection, but formidable.) She also loves sewing.
