You know what today is? Tuesday! You know what that means? Top Ten Tuesday! (Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018.)
Topic: ‘September 24: Books On My Fall 2019 TBR’
I actually had next week’s post all line up to go and completed when I realized it was for the next week. I suppose I got over excited for next week’s theme. This week is a bit harder but I think I can do it. I know that Fall is typically for the spooky stuff, but IDK if I’m going to read many spooky things. I have a lot of other plans, really.
10.

The Lightbringer Series by Brent Weeks
This is only so high up on this list because these are not going to be easy reads to get through. These books are thick and I’ve already heard so many things about this series. I don’t want my heart to be broken by the series. It will get reviews, probably, only because it will be a first read of the series.
9.

Violin by Anne Rice
Yes, I know that I gave up on this book. I gave up on this book so bad that I thought I was going to hurl it out of a window. However, I think that Fall is the perfect time for the spooky books. Perhaps I’ll be able to get myself into the series a lot more than I had been able to before. Its a hope, not a guarantee in any way. Fingers crossed.
8.

The Hawkweed Legacy by Irena Brignull
This book is the sequel to the Hawkweed Prophecy that I read, what feels like, forever ago. I finally have the sequel and that means I get to finally read it. Its one of those books that I’ve been holding on to in my mind, wondering how it will finish. I will find out in Autumn!
7.

His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman (Reread)
This is the only big name reread that is hitting this list for this season. I read these books as a kid and now I plan to reread them. I remember loving them then and I hope that I love them now. The fact that a reread hit this list had better not be surprising to anyone.
6.

The Merciful Crow by Margaret Owen
Something about this book draws me to it. I’m not entirely sure what it is yet, but I do know that I am going to love reading this book as I read it. Its in this upcoming month’s list of to read, so be prepared yourself. Please and thank you.
5.

On the Come Up by Angie Thomas
Since reading The Hate U Give, I’ve been meaning to read her second book. I’ve heard mixed things about this book, not that that matters to me really. I’m super excited to read this book next month! It’s a Stand alone, which is amazing.
4.

Shadow & Flame by Mindee Arnett
The sequel and conclusion to Onyx & Ivory. I am excited for this, mostly because it’s been a long time since I’ve read a duology. They are coming back into fashion these days, and that’s amazing. I can’t wait to read this, not only to complete the series, but because it’ll be a fun ride considering how the last book ended.
3.

Wicked Fox by Kat Cho
I know that I’ve had this book for a long while, but it is at the near top of my Fall TBR list. I don’t think I can get more “October” with a book about fox spirits. I’m super excited to read this, this month. It will be a blast.
2.

The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black
I do not yet have this book because it does not drop until November. However it is up here at the top of my list, because I might actually die when reading it. Please send help. I may need it more than you realize. I can’t believe this series is ending! I cry.
1.

Three Dark Crows series by Kendare Blake
I got Five Dark Fates in a book box, after thinking that by this time I would have already read it (link to post). I did not. However! I was gifted books 1-3 and now that I have them, I have no reason not to read them, and that’s exactly the mentality I am going into this with. I plan to finish this series first.
Oh how nice October is going to be in terms of completing series. Do you know, or have any idea, how long I have been holding out on series for? Way too long. As we close in on the final months of the year, I need to complete as many series as I can that I started this year (if possible). It’ll just feel right. You know? I think, right now, my goal for next year is to complete the series that I’ve found in discount stores and to read those series. As well as my Alice reading challenge. (which I’m working on creating. I say working, I mean I haven’t touched it in months for set up hahaha)
Otherwise, I have nothing else to say. I’ll see you later this week with those automated posts. Until next time,
MM
I’d like to try the Lightbringer Books too. I read Weeks’s first series, the Night Angel trilogy, and really liked it so I think the Lightbringer ones will be good too.
