Stargazer Review

Second Review for today! Once again sorry that this is coming so late.

Customary warning: This is a reminder that these are my personal opinions. My thoughts and feelings are not your thoughts and feelings. I may not always be the target  audience for a book; sometimes I am. If I do not like a book, that doesn’t mean you’ll dislike it. If I love a book or simply like a book, you may hate it. Take everything I say with this knowledge. If it sounds interesting to you despite what I’ve said, then go ahead and read it. You’ll only know you like something if you read it yourself.

That being said… Spoilers ahead.

Stargazer by Claudia Gray

Synopsis From The Book

Te vampire in me was closer to the surface . . .

Bianca, born to two vampires, has always been told her destiny is to become one. But she has fallen in love with Lucas, a vampire hunter who infiltrated Evernight Academy, the exclusive vampire boarding school she attends. Bianca will do anything to be with Lucas, even if it means lying to the powerful vampires of Evernight.

Her deceit leads her to dig deep into the mysteries of the school, and Bianca discovers that even those she trusts the most have their own dark secrets. When a ghostly force begins attacking Evernight—and targeting Bianca—she learns a shocking truth about her past that will forever change her future.

Romance – Paranormal | YA – E | Murder, Fighting | Coming of Age, Love at First Sight

Initial Thoughts Before Reading:

Alright lets see where this story takes me next. I was ready for a vampire academy, I was not ready for the vampire to be Bianca. I thought they were both humans at first and in a school of vampires. Little did I know. So here we are, going on to book two, of four. WHAT COULD GO WRONG.

Initial Thoughts After Reading:

Why is Bianca picking Lucas? Why? There is a much better, not human, choice for her. I don’t understanddddd. And then she has the audacity to pull the moves that she has? I can’t with her. The way this book ends makes me want to throw something.

Plot Overview:

The new school year is here. Bianca has a new roommate, her friend Raquel. She gets a letter from Vic, from Lucas, that tells her where to meet him. She finds him, after pretending to go out to watch a meteor shower. She meets a vampire and then Lucas and the vampire runs. She sticks with the Hunters for a bit and learns more about this vampire. On the way back to the school she meets Balthazar who learns where she was and that the vampire was his sister Charity.

The two investigate why Ms. Bethany, the headmistress, brought humans to the school. They find out it’s because of ghosts who start to hunt Bianca. Bianca talks with Lucas more, pretends to date Balthazar. They find Charity and she shoos them away. They continue to investigate, and Bianca is attacked by the ghosts, called Wraiths. She finds out that she was born with the help of a Wraith.

Charity kills another vampire student and then funs away. And when she is next seen, she admits to having convinced the Hunters that the school is killing humans. The hunters attack and the school is overrun. Raquel and Bianca are saved by the Hunters and join the Black Cross.

What I Liked:

Balthazar; He is still best boy and Bianca is making the wrong choice. What can Lucas give her? One century of almost happiness (60 years more likely). No, Pick Balthazar who sticks by your side, and expects nothing in return from you.

Charity; She’s kinda nuts. I know that its because she was born unrooted (at sea) and that she was turned so young, so I’m really hoping that she can get Vampire therapy or something cuz the girl really does need help. She betrayed her brother!

Continuation; I did like how this story continued from where it left off. I have no idea where it will go now that the vampire is with the vampire hunters, but I guess, I’ll find out.

Vampire Hunters/ The Black Cross; These vampire hunters either suck or just really don’t know that Bianca is a vampire. I’m not sure I care because the personalities are great and I can’t wait to see more of them in the next book.

What I Would Have Liked or Changed:

I still don’t like Lucas x Bianca. Like I swear she only likes him for his blood and nothing else. Please.
