Spirit Bound Review

Good morning! Alright let’s finish this series right! I really have pushed off finishing this review until the very last moment, but that’s okay. Isn’t it? lol. Anyway, three reviews today. Only because I don’t see a reason to give you the series review on its own.

Customary warning: This is a reminder that these are my personal opinions. My thoughts and feelings are not your thoughts and feelings. I may not always be the target  audience for a book; sometimes I am. If I do not like a book, that doesn’t mean you’ll dislike it. If I love a book or simply like a book, you may hate it. Take everything I say with this knowledge. If it sounds interesting to you despite what I’ve said, then go ahead and read it. You’ll only know you like something if you read it yourself.

That being said… Spoilers ahead.

Initial Thoughts Before Reading:

Okay so yeah. I gave up on my reading group when life hit the fan. So I’m trying to catch back up again. I will soon, I hope. Idk, truly. I think they’re going to the other series after this, so fingers crossed that I catch up. Anyway! I’m excited let’s go!!

Initial Thoughts After Reading:

WOW So much happened. Trail, murder, love, angst, DIMITRI IS BACK. OH MY HEART. Lissa actually wasn’t dead weight in this book for once, bless. Alright one more book to go, and it is the largest of all of them so far. I CAN DO THIS.

Plot Overview:

Rose graduates with flying colors, having to do some tests to make hers more difficult than others. Her mother and father were both there. She, and her friends go to Court and Rose meets Adrian’s family. Lissa, Eddie, and Rose sneak off to Alaska and break Viktor out of jail then go to Las Vegas. They meet his brother, Robert, and Adrian in Vegas. Robert tells them bout Spirit in a stake and how Spirit User must drake the person. Rose realizes this is what viktor intended to do with Natalie. They are attacked by Dimitri and Rose stops Eddie from killing him. Viktor escapes. The group goes back to Court and Eddie and Rose are reprimanded as Lissa goes to visit her new school with Christian who teaches her to fight.

Lissa continues with her training as Rose continues with her punishment. She is interviewed and sent off. Lissa and Christian are attacked, and Dimitri takes them. Rose goes with the team to save them, and Lissa saves Dimitri bringing him back to being a dhampir. Dimitri is put through many tests as the royal council decides to make the age for dhampir guardians to be 16. Rose threatens the queen with it. Adrian and Rose fight because of Dimitri but make up. Rose tries and fails and tries and succeeds to talk to Dimitri who did not want to talk to her, but one morning she is taken because Queen Titania was murdered.

Rose is put in a hearing for the murder, and gets a letter from Titania. Titania tells her that there is a faction that wants all dhampirs to fight and that Lissa has a half sibling, and finding the sibling can give Lissa a vote. The novel ends with Rose having to go on to trial.

What I Liked:

Lissa is not Dead Weight; For like the first time. It was the first time that Lissa pulled her own weight and did what she needed to, in order to help Rose. I was really pleased with this.

Dimitri; He’s back! He’s back! Oh. I’m so happy that Lissa was able to heal him. This means that there is a chance for them to be able to heal the other Strigoi! I love it. Also, seeing how Dimitri has to deal with the trauma of what he went through, I was interested in, because Strigoi Dimitri was a very ruthless person. Having one’s morals back, must be so disorienting.

Hearing and Murder; Oh. Well. I did like this. Was I surprised that Rose got blamed? I think I would have been more surprised if she hadn’t been lol.
